In other news, a group of elected and transportation officials met today, to discuss possibly widening I-65.
State Representative Jody Richards says the project would be costly but is definitely worth it.
From Park city to Elizabeth Town, the interstate would be widened to six lanes.
Both Richards and U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie, believe widening the interstate would save lives and bring in more economic development.
"In Hart County, it's 45-percent truck traffic, and that road was built for seven-percent truck traffic. So we've just outgrown the road," said Rep. Jody Richards.
"Interstates are the rivers of today. Towns along the interstate are developing and growing economically and every town that doesn't have an interstate access is trying to move forward," said U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie.
Richards says they will now take this issue back to Frankfort, for more discussion.
