On Capitol Hill tonight the public option in health care reform has taken a

sudden turn for the better House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says an

optional government health plan will be included in the house health

care reform bill. And now her senate counterpart Senator Harry Reid

is also said to be leaning toward the public option something many

Republicans thought they'd seen the last of. The Senate version could

include an opt out provision that lets states choose not to participate in the public plan.

"the robust public option is, in my view, a preferred way to go because it saves the most money. One-hundred and ten billion dollars."

The revival of a government plan is driven in part by public support. An ABC news Washington post poll this week found 57% of Americans favor a public option.
