The simple scoop of a shovel means a big step forward for health care in Grayson County.

On Monday, officials broke ground for a major building expansion to the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

The $15 million project will create an additional 55,000 square feet of space for the hospital.

Construction is expected to begin in November, and will take approximately 18 to 24 months to complete.
