HOT, or Help Overcome Tobacco, is a statewide network of youth activists trained to ignite the power and passion of Kentucky youth to quit tobacco use.
During the five-hour presentation leaders from each school received information on the effects of tobacco, which Youth Services Coordinator, Brenda Chaney, says is important in sharing with fellow students.
"Getting the education," says Chaney, "the information and also ways to go back and advocate to make change in our community."
Bowling Green Hot Rod's General Manager, Brad Taylor, and mascot Axle, were on hand to kick off this morning's festivities, which saw students from seventeen participating schools.
After lunch the audience saw skits and public service announcements before being treated to door prizes.
