Candidates considering a run in Kentucky's 2010 primary election have less than a week to file their paperwork with the secretary of state's office.

The filing deadline is Jan. 26.

Secretary of State Trey Grayson says candidates who file with his office have a deadline of 4 p.m., while candidates who file with the county clerk may file until 4 p.m. local time.

If candidates choose to mail their filing papers, the documents must be received by 4 p.m.
