The question facing Democrats now is how to salvage health care reform?

Possible answers leave the left wing with fallback options that range from bad to worse.

One leading idea involves persuading House Democrats to pass a Senate bill they don't fully support.

Another calls for Senate Democrats to promise to make changes to the bill later on.

Some Democrats say their big hopes may have to be scaled back, but are determined to push reform legislation through.

"Heeding the concerns of the voters of massachusetts last night we heard...We will move forward with their considerations in mind...But we will move forward for healthcare reform," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said.

Republicans are outraged at Pelosi for continuing to push healthcare reform without bipartisan support.

Minority leader John Boehner had this to say today: "You've heard what the Speaker said yesterday, and what the majority leader said: 'We're going to find some way to push this over the line.' It's that kind of arrogance that has the American people about ready to pull their hair out and about ready to throw every Democrat out of here."

He added that the GOP has made it clear that they're open to discussing, but liberals have made no attempt to include them in the bill.
