The Jumping Jaguars from Bowling Green helped Simpson County Elementary School kick off its Jump Rope For Heart program today.
Kids participating in Jump Rope For Heart ask for donations from family and friends for the American Heart Association, in exchange for jump roping.
Kids are awarded prizes based on how much money they raise.
"In Western Kentucky," says AHA Youth Director Matt Ogden, "approximately 164 schools are doing the program currently, and the students raise the donations and the donations are sent back to the American Heart Association, and that goes to research and cures for heart disease."
The Jumping Jaguars from Bowling Green are made up from seven schools from around the area, and perform for local schools and events.
