UPDATED 6:30 PM (WBKO) -- Kentucky State Police said a man was shot in Metcalfe County, near the Barren County line, early Tuesday morning near the area of Highway 70 and Black Dot Road. They add, his injuries were so bad he had to be life flighted to U of L Hospital.
Police said that victim is 32 year old Jonathan Greer.
Around noon, authorities emptied the scene to begin searching for the suspect. With law enforcement in the area, word spread fast down Black Dot Road, leaving neighbors apprehensive.
"She called me this (Tuesday) morning and told me to keep my door shut. She said there had been a shooting," said neighbor, Eddie Gilbert
"Just a weird thing to happen. I'll feel at ease if they do catch him and when. The quicker the better," added neighbor Larry England.
37 year old Michael Wayne Bennett and 38 year old Edward Terry Brooks, both of Edmonton, have been arrested and charged with Assault. They're each in the Barren County Detention Center.
Police said many details in the case are still unknown and under investigation.
Authorities said Greer remains in the hospital, in serious yet stable condition.

Police say they don't have any suspects in the case but they're following leads.
