Kentucky transportation officials have opened one lane in each direction of Dixie Highway in Louisville following a train derailment and fire.

The Kentucky Transportation cabinet said a 35 mph speed limit is being rigorously enforced at the site in southwest Louisville.

Homeowners were allowed back into their homes Sunday after the fire burned itself out and two cars carrying containing hydrogen fluoride were moved and stabilized. That was four days after the fire broke out on one of the derailed tankers, prompting the evacuation.

Paducah & Louisville Railway CEO Tony Reck told The Associated Press his company has paid out about $325,000 so far in reimbursements.
