BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The holiday spirit was alive and well at Warren Elementary Wednesday. That's because one hundred ed students each got a new pair of shoes and two pairs of socks, from the Bowling Green Rotary Club. Members of the club said the donation was months in the making, but the time spent was well worth the gratitude from the students.
"In my boots, I can't go very high, and they don't stay tight, and they come untied. These actually stay on." said second grader, Joseph Gregory.
"This helps the kids self-esteem here at school and it helps them with morale and so many ways. It helps them so many ways beyond the classroom that helps them in the class room; words can't even describe. We can't express our thanks enough." said Family Resource Coordinator, Amy Carter.
Each student received a pair of shoes specific to their size. Almost all of them said they'll do their best to keep them clean as long as possible.
