One after another, world leaders took to the podium on Sept. 25, including President Bush, who stood before the United Nation's General Assembly and delivered a wide-ranging speech.
Outside the UN, many protesters focused on the war in Iraq.
But inside, President Bush barely made a mention of it.
Instead, he challenged the UN itself, to fight for freedom in lands riddled with poverty and terror.
"The people of Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq have asked for our help. Every civilized nation has a responsibility to stand with them," explained President Bush.
Iran's President, Mahmoud Ahmadenijad, also took the floor to speak.
On Sept. 25, the House of Representatives passed a bill aimed at blocking foreign investment in Iran.
The proposal would specifically bar the Iranian president from waiving U.S. sanctions.
