The UAW strike is striking a chord in the Kentucky gubernatorial race.
Governor Ernie Fletcher said he understands unions' right to strike when they feel they're not getting a fair deal.
However, the governor also says striking workers at a Kentucky General Motors plant may send the wrong message to businesses considering the state as a home.
John Havens, a United Auto Workers representative, said Fletcher has long been an opponent of organized labor.
Democratic challenger Steve Beshear added that he supports the union's right to strike and counters that it's the governor's administration sending the wrong message about doing business in Kentucky.
