A former Kentucky State Police dispatcher is in jail in connection with a 2005 drunk driving accident.
Charles Stephen Wheeler crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Ian Cole of Russell Springs, Ky.
The wreck happened in June of 2005 in Russell County.
Cole, his mother and sister were injured in the wreck.
On Sept. 25 in Russell Circuit Court, Russell pleaded guilty to three counts of wanton endangerment and DUI first-degree.
He was sentenced to a total of four years in jail.
In 60 days, Wheeler's attorney will be allowed to file a motion for shock probation.
Wheeler is also a former DARE instructor in Adair County.
