Free Cataract Surgery Offered to Low-income Participants

Many people were in attendance for pre-cataract screenings and an opportunity to have cataract surgery done free of charge.

Downing-Mcpeak Vision Centers will offer cataract surgery for people who can't afford the procedure, or do not have medical insurance.

This community out-reach is apart of the "2010 Mission Cataract USA."

Doctors and staff along with eye surgeons across the United States will volunteer their time to help those in need of surgery.

Cataracts can cause your eyesight to deteriorate, if not treated.

"The symptoms of cataracts; blurred vision, particularly glare around lights, driving into the sun, or meeting a car at night, would be the more common ones."

Doctor John downing also adds, over a million cataract surgeries are performed in the U.S each year.
