Muhlenberg County may see at least 400 new jobs if two coal-to-diesel fuel plants are built in the area.
Louisville-based Kentucky Fuel has sent letters of intent to build two $350-million facilities in Muhlenberg County.
The initial plan is to build a barge-loading plant on the Green River in the northern part of the county, and a second one could be built near a railroad in the southern end of the county.
The coal plants would be a result of incentives approved this year in a state energy bill.
Representative Brent Yonts cautioned nothing is set in stone, but he's very hopeful.
