A Bowling Green businessman is suing the city for shutting his feed mill down for more than a year ago.
Don Lowe of "Lowe's Feed & Grain" said rain from a storm shorted out an 800-amp breaker at his business on September 26, 2002.
He added that the next day, city electrical inspector, Rick Maxwell, said Lowe's business was not in compliance with the city's electrical code.
Lowe's lawsuit claims he was then unable to manufacture feed for customers and was for all intents and purposes, out of business.
Lowe said Maxwell didn't allow him to re-open for business until February of 2004.
Lowe is suing Maxwell and the city of Bowling Green for the income he lost being closed for 16 months.
