A lot of people are likely enjoying their extended weekend by hitting the lake.
"We're seeing a lot more boaters and skiers than we normally do," said Gary Morrison, owner of Ranger Bob's Bait and Tackle in Allen County.
One of those people is Tad Wolfe. He says the lake is the perfect place to enjoy some time off, and he's glad local stores are open to help him do just that.

"I usually like to spend time with my family. I like coming up here at the spillway. The food's great here at Mr. Bob's and it's great. I just like coming up here and hanging out."
Morrison says the holiday weekend is obviously a big reason there are so many people out right now, but there are some other reasons as well.
"We're having a lot more people but I think it's probably two-fold."
According to Morrison, this is actually the first weekend many people have had the chance to visit the lake since May's floods.
"Our lake was barely usable earlier in the year. We actually didn't have a fourth of July weekend that people felt comfortable using the lake, so I think they're trying to get it in now, something they haven't been able to do," he said.
All the people stopping by the store has Morrison happy, but he says no matter how many people come in, it can't make up for the money he lost earlier in the year.
"When it's lost, it's lost. You're never gonna make it up. It's gone. We look forward to what we can do from now till the end of the year," said Morrison.
