Most Bowling Green residents took advantage of the nice weather.

While there were the traditional barbecues, some took a more alternate route choosing to show off their talent at the skate park.

Today kids and young adults were at the park landing skate tricks and other moves they invented.

A couple of people say skateboarding is a way of life for them.

"It's just my thing, I do it every day on my off day. Just anything to free my mind, just get my mind away from stuff," said Derek Davis.

"Just trying tricks and when you land them it just feels good," said Chase Presley.

Presley and his family came from Franklin, Tennessee.

He says they were visiting Bowling Green and he convinced them to let him skate.
