In other Labor Day activities, some people decided to donate not only their time to the American Red Cross but also their blood.

Donors who gave their blood today got the satisfaction of giving to a good cause and were entered into a sweepstakes for a one-thousand dollar gas card.

One donor says she always gives blood to help those in need.

"It was an opportunity to help somebody so it really doesn't matter if it was a holiday because people have accidents and need blood all the time," said Debby Burden.

If you would like to give blood the Red Cross office in Bowling Green is open every Friday from ten-thirty to four thirty and the second Saturday of each month.
