The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) brought its Voter Empowerment Program tour bus to Western Kentucky University Monday. The stop is one of many along a fourteen state tour, which goes through election day, Nov. 5.
The NAACP says about the program: “The NAACP Voter Empowerment Program is an aggressive campaign designed to ensure that all Americans have equal opportunity to fully participate in the political process. The VEP is committed to empower the African American community by increasing awareness and participation in the full political process in local, state and federal elections with special emphasis in the 18-25-year-old population."
