An author whose book is being read by the entire community is touting her work to a young audience this week.
Kirby Larson is visiting five Warren County middle schools on Oct. 15 and 16.
Her book Hattie Big Sky was chosen by for this year's "One Read" program.
It's a kick off to next spring's Southern Kentucky Book Fest.
Larson says Hattie Big Sky is a book that will appeal to all ages.
"Even though it's set in the past, it relates to today's teens. She had to overcome obstacles and all of us have things we struggle with in our lives," Larson explained.
The book also won the Newberry honor in January which Larson calls the "Oscar" in literary work.
