At the Tompkinsville Wal-Mart on Oct. 16, it was all about Eric Reid. The Dream Factory of Bowling Green grants wishes to area children and young adults with critical illnesses.

Eric Reid's wish was to buy anything his heart desires at his favorite store.

It's a grand arrival at the Tompkinsville Wal-Mart. Eric Reid is going on a shopping spree and the sky is the limit.

"It's the best thing ever. It's my dream come true to see his dream come true," said Aaron, Eric's twin brother.

"He's a pistol. He's very, very, very ready," added Christy Hammer, Wal-Mart employee and event coordinator.

"I've never seen a kid with such exuberance for life," said John Combs, fellow employee and co-coordinator.

And now, he's loading up the shopping cart with a few small items and some things that are much larger.

It's an opportunity made possible by the Bowling Green chapter of the Dream Factory.

"It's an absolute blessing to find people who still care in this world, and care about people they've never met," admitted Eric's mother, Kaye Reid.

"It's amazing to me that there are organizations like Dream Factory out there that really do make dreams come true for children," added Wal-Mart manager, Shawn Goss.

"Just seeing him happy, doing something that he would never, ever be able to do--it's all that I care is seeing him smile," assured Lou Ann Hayes, with the Dream Factory.

But for Eric, the only thing better than an all expense paid shopping spree, is getting back home to enjoy everything filling his carts.

"It's almost indescribable, to see him so happy, and to see him have the chance to do something that we would have never been able to do for him. He will remember for the rest of his life," Kaye Reid said.

In addition to the shopping spree, the Tompkinsville Wal-Mart has given Eric a $100 certificate for him to use anytime at the store.
