The Dalai Lama is in Indiana for the next six days and his visit has inspired two men to make an unusual journey.
Rob Foster and Chris Deutsch are long-time friends from Washington D.C. who hope to meet the spiritual leader.
They decided to walk from Hope, Indiana to Buddha, Indiana, then on to Bloomington, where the Dalai Lama is visiting.
"I think we are guaranteed to have a little contact with him because we are going to the teaching, and I feel pretty confident he will want to sit down and at least just hear about our story. We have met some of the nicest people in the world. We really have had an extremely warm reception in every town we have been to," Deutsch explained.
The 100-mile journey on foot has taken the men seven days and seven nights, with the goal of spending just seven minutes with the Dalai Lama.
