Speaking at a Senate Banking Committee Hearing, U.S. Senator Jim Bunning claimed the TVA has $26-billion worth of publicly-traded debt. He says the TVA can unilaterally raise its rates because no regulatory body oversees its operation.
Bunning is calling for more disclosure and more accountability from the TVA, and more regulation of its operation.
