Kentucky State Police say 11 people died in five separate crashes on Kentucky roadways over the Christmas holiday.

The holiday began last Friday at 6:00 PM and ran through 11:59 Tuesday night.

KSP says crashes happened in Christian, Clark, Jefferson, Knox, and Pike counties.

Ten of the deaths involved motor vehicles, and one was a pedestrian.

Six of the victims weren't wearing seat belts.

Troopers suspect alcohol was involved in the crashes in Christian, Knox, and Pike counties.
