Retired WKU Government Professor, Carl Chelf, PhD., says although Kentucky Governor Paul Patton may be embarrassed by a lawsuit alleging a sexual affair with the operator of a nursing home, it will have minimal effect on the rest of his term.
Tina Conner is suing Patton, claiming he unleashed state regulators on her nursing home, in retaliation for her breaking off their alleged affair. Chelf says this is a "He said, she said" situation, and even if there was an affair, there is no proof yet of any sexual harassment.
Chelf says the suit may tarnish Patton's image somewhat, but he doesn't think it will have much of an effect on any plans Patton may have to run for the U.S. Senate.
