Congress Gives Final Approval to Chemical Weapons Disposal Bill

Congress gives final approval to a bill that would speed up the disposal of chemical weapons.

Included is language inserted by Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell that would set a 20-17 deadline to destroy the weapons at the Bluegrass Army Depot near Richmond.

They will be destroyed by chemical neutralization followed by secondary treatment on site.

The bill now goes to President Bush.
