Attorney General Ben Chandler says the most serious allegation raised so far in Governor Patton's sex scandal is that a nursing home operator was tipped off about a state inspection.
Chandler says such advance warnings, if they occur, could possibly endanger nursing home residents. He also says he's willing to launch a separate investigation on the subject if there's any indication that other nursing homes have been tipped off.
Tina Conner, who's suing Patton for sexual harassment, owns the Birchtree Health Care nursing home in Clinton. Conner says she was tipped off by someone in the governor's office on at least one occasion.
Her lawyer says she has given that information to state and federal investigators. Conner and Patton had a sexual relationship for about two years. Patton has acknowledge the affair, but denied misusing his authority.
