On Saturday June 8, DESA International filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy electronically. The case is now in a Delaware bankruptcy court.
The heater maker has two facilities in Bowling Green and employs around 900 people.
Officials say a financing plan is in place and no job losses are expected. The move is attributed to a sluggish economy, warm winter and problems getting a new line of heaters into production.
