Warren County's former county attorney Mike Caudill has been released from The Medical Center in Bowling Green, but his legal status hasn't changed.
Caudill was admitted in October after a stroke left him partially incapacitated, and that's when doctors discovered a hole in his heart that may have lead to the stroke. Caudill is now recovering at home but is still partially incapacitated and is receiving therapy while awaiting heart surgery to repair the defect.
Caudill was arrested in June and charged with DUI after police say he crashed his truck into a tree. WBKO was the first to report that Caudill will seek a plea agreement in that case, and sources Monday said that plan hasn't changed.
The state's Attorney General's Office Public Corruption Unit has been investigating allegations of official misconduct surrounding charges that Caudill misspent public money while in office. Mike Caudill was Warren County's County Attorney for more than 25 years, until he resigned on April 1.
No charges have been filed so far in that investigation.
