The former executive director of the Franklin-Simpson Chamber of Commerce is indicted by a grand jury.
42-year-old Karen England Eaton was indicted on two counts of theft by unlawful taking, or disposition over $300, which is a Class-D felony.
The charges relate to grants given in 2004 and 2006.
Eaton allegedly stole funds from the State Treasury in the form of grant monies from the State Department of Agriculture.
Eaton was executive director of the chamber from September 2000 through January 2007.
If convicted, Eaton could face up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The court has issued a warrant for Eaton's arrest.
