McConnell used his position as a senior member of the appropriations committee to secure the following funding:
$2 million is earmarked for the South Central Kentucky Water Infrastructure Project at the Kentucky Trimodal Transpark. This will be used for water and sewer improvements related to the park.
Another $2 millions is allotted for the Bowling Green Transpark U.S.68/31W Improvements project.
And another grant has been set aside for the Transpark itself. Mayor Sandy Jones says, "So we are in line to receive $1.5 million for the technical training facility that will be located at the Kentucky Transpark."
Additional monies earmarked for Bowling Green include $250,000 for the restoration and repairs at the old courthouse. And $800,000 for land purchases at Lost River Cave.
McConnell says Bowling Green is one of the leading economic engines in the Commonwealth, and he is proud to do his part to further its success.
