Inaugural events for Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear are spread across the day in Frankfort.
A parade with many horses was under way the morning of Dec. 11.
Many marching bands from our area took part in the festivities.
Beshear also attended an interfaith religious service.
Following a long-standing tradition, Franklin County Judge-Executive Ted Collins came to the Governor's Mansion Dec. 11 carrying a white cake on a silver tray.
Others brought Kentucky bourbon, candy, and country ham and biscuits.
The public ceremony at which the governor repeats his oath will be on the afternoon of Dec. 11 on the Capitol steps.
