Kentucky's new governor says the enormity of the position has definitely sunk in.
After a late night of inaugural balls, Governor Steve Beshear got to work at the State Capitol on Dec. 12.
He says he knows the exact moment he realized the significance of what's ahead.
"It really hit me during the swearing in of what a huge responsibility and I felt it, a heavy responsibility, but also an exciting time," stated Beshear.
The governor says the days are numbered for the infamous secret door installed by the previous administration.
It connected the governor's suite of rooms to a media room, allowing officials to access it without using a public hallway.
Beshear says the door projects an image of secrecy and that's not something he wants for his own administration
