Renovation Plans at Tennessee Governor Mansion Not Going Over Well

A plan to spend $20-million on renovating the Tennessee Governor's Mansion in Nashville is not going over well.

Protesters gathered late Dec. 11 near the mansion to show their disapproval for one section that will expand to 13,000 square feet to accommodate less than 100 guests of the governor and first lady.

Some say Tennessee's governor and his wife suggested in the past they could revive the mansion for a little under $10-million.

The current cost to Tennessee taxpayers for the current plan is estimated at $11-million.
