Kentucky's attorney general says the case of a former Simpson County chamber executive will stay in Frankfort.
Karen Eaton pleaded not guilty to felony theft charges last week in Franklin County Circuit Court.
Eaton is accused of two counts of theft by unlawful taking over $300 from State Agricultural Diversification grant monies distributed to the Chamber.
Her attorney filed a motion to have the case transferred to Simpson Circuit Court.
The attorney general issued a response Dec. 12 overruling the motion.
Since the money came from the Kentucky State Treasury, the Attorney General's Office says Frankfort is the appropriate venue for the case.
