Children First

After being assigned an occupation, these students set out to find housing, transportation, insurance and more, all on a budget.

Huma Nargis is a "surgeon" with no children. So far she's bought a nice car, set up a bank account, and learned a lot about life.

Bianca Wilson and Dominique James say they didn't expect to learn so much.

The reality store is sponsored by 4-H and the youth services center helps coordinate it. Organizers say the students enjoy it.

"They love it; one of the expressions that comes back is I don't want to have a child right now; just too expensive; didn't realize how much things cost.

Teachers hope these real life situations show students that making good grades now can lead to a successful life.
