Tennessee Crossing Guard Gets Early Christmas Surprise

In the spirit of the holiday season, a group of parents in Memphis, Tennessee surprised a school crossing guard with an unexpected gift.

The children and parents of Richland Elementary School have grown fond of Linda Foster.

And when it comes to safety, Foster wastes no time making sure each child is out of harm's way.

But for "Miss Linda..." getting around has been difficult after her car broke down.

When she doesn't have a ride to work, she walks.

But Christmas came early for Foster when a group of parents surprised her with the keys to a 2002 Chevy Impala.

"We didn't do it for any other reason, but for Ms. Linda and to help her out and we're absolutely blown away that we could raise this much money in a weeks notice, just by word of mouth," said Melanie Tigrett, a parent from the area.

While Foster doesn't have grandchildren of her own, she says she considers herself a grandmother to the countless children she watches over each day.
