Pay Raises Not Properly Documented

The top lawyer for the state's personnel Cabinet said two raises for a staffer of former State Treasurer, Jonathan Miller were wrongly processed, but the mistakes are easily fixable.

Personnel Cabinet General Counsel, Dan Egbers said the pay raises weren't properly documented.

He did say they can be resubmitted to the Cabinet as a bonus known to state employees as an award for continuing excellence.

In question were two raises received by Miller's former Deputy Treasurer Rebecca Brooke Parker.

The raises amounted to a little more than $566 a month and were given in June 2004.

Egbers' decision was in response to questions raised by outgoing Personnel Cabinet Secretary Brian Crall, who had referred the matter to the State Personnel Board.
