The Federal Highway Administration estimates there were more than six million accidents in the United States in the year 2000. Many of those accidents people were trapped inside their cars.
Twenty-six area firefighters received extrication training at the Cave City Fire Department. They learned the different types of tools needed to remove a person trapped inside a car. The firefighters also used that information and practiced with old cars donated by a local wrecker service.
