Presidential candidates took the Christmas holiday off in Iowa.
Campaign headquarters in Des Moines were quiet as staffers spent the holiday with their families.
For many, it was their first day off in months of campaigning.
Bill Richardson's staff was treated to a party thrown by their state director.
It was a day of relaxation for people who work 90 to 100 hours a week promoting their candidate.
With the Iowa caucuses scheduled for Jan. 3, the Richardson family will break up and go to other states, but the staffers say they won't lose touch with each other.
All candidates will be back on the campaign trail Dec. 26.
