Officers say when they first moved into the building, they knew they'd need room to grow, so they added 16,000 square feet of new offices, storage, and a brand new 911 communications center. These changes were all part of the latest expansion project.
"It looks great. The walls, the carpet, the new technology will help better serve our community."
City Leaders, local law enforcement and community members celebrated the completion of Police Headquarters at a ribbon cutting Monday afternoon.
"Everyone is so excited about these changes. They've all worked really hard. Some employees have even had to move offices three or four times in the last 13 months. They're all just ready for it to be done."
Police Chief Bill Waltrip says this is only the first phase of expansion, he says the department has proposed at least two others in the future.
