Guns Brought to Russellville Middle School

Russellville Schools Superintendent Donna Preston says two students have been turned over the law enforcement after separate incidents involving weapons.

One gun was brought to school Friday and one was brought Monday morning. Neither gun was loaded, but ammunition was apparently in one of the student's backpacks.

Preston says thanks to students who showed maturity and wisdom in telling other teachers, the incidents were handled well and no one was hurt. As a result, the school has ordered clear backpacks and will start a Junior Crime Stoppers program.
