One of Bowling Green's oldest and largest employers announced Wednesday that it will move the job responsiblities of around 50 employees to Denver, leaving most of those workers without a job.
Camping World officials say unprecedented growth and a lack of space at their corporate headquarters on Three Springs Road led to the decision to move their call center from Bowling Green to a sister company's facilities in Colorado.
The move will leave about 50 workers without a job, but a handful of those employees will be able to transfer to other departments within the Bowling Green facility.
Camping World also recently announced it will move its distribution center from Bowling Green to Franklin, to give it more space for expected increases in inventory.
The camping supply chain expects to open 30 new stores over the next 18 months, says CEO Mark Boggess, who says the company is committed to staying in Bowling Green long-term, despite the call center announcement.
