Brush Fire Blamed for Deadly Car Pileup in Central Florida

Authorities blame a combination of fog and smoke from a nearby brush fire for a deadly, multi-car crash in central Florida.

One local television station says as many as 50 vehicles were involved in the crash near Haines City on the morning of Jan. 08.

Polk County deputies say at least three people have died in the accident and at least one vehicle caught on fire.

The highway patrol has shut down the interstate in both directions backing up traffic for several miles.
