The 2005 General Assembly recently passed a budget for our state, after two years of deadlock.
In the proposal, there are several projects that will bring new Judicial Centers to South Central Kentucky, including Hart County.
Hart County's Judge Executive says his courthouse was built in 1928, and has been renovated to keep it up with the times. However, after recent problems with the sewer lines, the county's ready for a new building.
The county is slated to get a new center with almost 35,000 square feet that costs around $11,000.
Now the budget is in Governor Ernie Fletcher's hands waiting for his approval.
If it's given the green light Adair, Grayson, and Logan Counties will also get new judicial centers.
