William Milliken was the only college-bound student in Kentucky to achieve a 36 on his ACT; that's the highest possible score one can receive.
Milliken says to prepare for the test he studied review materials, talked to people who already took the test, and got a good night's sleep.
However, all of the hard work couldn't prepare his reaction when he learned he earned a perfect score.
Now the test isn't over for Milliken; since a writing portion was recently added to the exam, he'll have to take it again next year.
However, Milliken says his perfect score combined with the writing portion can be used for his college applications.
