WKU Frat House Fire

While Sigma Alpha Epsilon members reflect on memories of their house, Western Kentucky University students pull together to offer support.

Students who lived in the fraternity house lost everything they own expect the shirts on their back.

Monday afternoon, students made baskets and other items for SAE members after a fire ripped through their home early Sunday morning.

SAE member, Nick Johnston, who continued to survey the damage of the blaze says members are thankful for all that support.

“It makes you feel like everybody cares about you.”

The university has already helped members get new books, Western ID’s, and alerted their professors of the situation.

Western officials say SAE members have found places to stay, food, and clothes.

Sunday night an activity at Western’s campus raised around a hundred dollars for the fraternity. If you would like to make a donation you can call Western’s student activities at 745-2459.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
