According to the Department of Fish and Wildlife more than 70,000 deer have been caught in the state of Kentucky this past year.
Sergeant Howard Hodges is in the field asking to see hunting licenses, which he says help fund the conservation of wildlife. Hodges says he also makes sure hunting only occurs during the assigned season.
Right now we are in the midst of hunting season. It began the second Saturday of November and ends Monday.
