Last Sunday, a fire ripped through a Western Kentucky University fraternity house, destroying everything it’s path.
This afternoon, Sigma Alpha Epsilon members continued to pick through the rubble and gather what’s left of their belongings, while fire investigators continue to look for answers.
“It was pretty quick, it happened all so fast.”
Michael Casagrande survived the fire at the SAE fraternity house.
“I remember waking up to the smoke detector, I thought it was someone playing a joke.”
Michael lived in an upper floor room and while he never thought he’d experience anything like this his parents thought it was best to be prepared and bought him a fire escape ladder that he credits for saving his life.
Michael remembers the phone call to his parents at 5:30a.m. as he watched his house go up in flames.
“I’m okay, everything is alright the house is burning down but thank you.”
While fire investigators continue to look for the cause of the blaze, fraternity members pick through the rubble and gather what’s left of their belongings.
